We fundraise and raise awareness for Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center. We believe in doing what we can to help our community, and uplifting the spirits of those who need services at the hospital as well as their family members. In the past we have put together gift bags for patients as well as raised money for the hospital directly through events like raffles and fundraising tables.

Orientation & First Year Experience at The University of Southern Maine (USM) is committed to supporting and equipping students for success in life and at USM inside and outside of the classroom, especially during students' first year as a Husky.

Orientation & First Year Experience innovates to be responsive to shifting needs of today's students and society to be a leader in orientation, retention and transition practices.

Mission
The Office of Orientation & First Year Experience connects new Huskies, from all backgrounds, to opportunities and resources on and off campus. This enhances their experience as members of the USM community and allows them to explore dynamic curricular and co-curricular engagement throughout their time at USM preparing them with skills and perspective to be successful in life beyond their time as students.

We offer a variety of collaborative Orientation programs. These programs begin upon acceptance and continue throughout a Husky's first year in the USM community. We strive to offer programs which resonate with and welcome all new huskies, and honors their experiences, perspectives, and identities as they join the USM community.

The Promise Scholarship is designed to help underserved young achievers from Maine overcome financial, academic, social, and cultural barriers, remain in school, and graduate in four years with little or no debt — prepared to make their own contributions to Maine’s social and economic well-being. Our program supports up to 100 scholars every year – approximately 25 in each class – with top-off, multi-year scholarship awards that covers 100% of a scholar’s demonstrated need, as determined by the FAFSA, in meeting the cost of tuition, fees, housing, and meals. The Promise Scholarship award amount varies by student and is on-top of a scholar’s other aid including federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships. The Promise Scholarship program is designed to enable students to graduate in four years with minimal to no debt.

As a student organization, the QSA will seek to provide resources that will serve to educate and equip the community on a variety of topics, concerns, and issues relevant to its goals and purposes. Hello, I'm super excited to see so much interest in the Spanish club this year! typically Typically we are an all level spanish conversation table that meets in gorham, (we could also do a meet in portland) and we do fun things like watching Encanto or translating our favorite songs into english or Spanish. Later today I'm going to send out a google form about when we can meet and leadership roles since some of our conversation leaders have graduated. If you take a leadership role you will have the opportunity to truly make the club your own. Last year we were pretty much just a fun conversation table but now, we're official and can get funding from the BSO so please inquire if you have a vision for where you would like to see this club.

We are an Indigenous student-run organization here at USM focused on current and historical event awareness & community engagement. We are open to welcoming Indigenous students from all Nations and tribes as well as non-Indigenous allies interested in ways they can help tribal communities flourish.
