Mission
The goal and purpose of the Queer Straight Alliance is to create a safe and welcoming environment for USM's LGBTQIA+ community regardless of race, color, religion, gender, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, gender expression or transgender status, age, or national origin. As a student organization, the QSA will seek to provide resources that will serve to educate and equip the community on a variety of topics, concerns, and issues relevant to its goals and purposes. By educating and equipping its members, the QSA also endeavors to serve the community at large in hopes of being an influential voice and force for equality, diversity, and respect.

LAND RECOGNITION: The campuses of USM occupy the lands of the nations of the Wabanaki Confederacy

We are an Indigenous student-run organization here at USM focused on current and historical event awareness & community engagement. We are open to welcoming Indigenous students from all Nations and tribes as well as non-Indigenous allies interested in ways they can help tribal communities flourish.

Membership Benefits
Membership benefits include being able to run for one of the five board positions in yearly elections in the first few weeks of the spring semester, the ability to vote in elections, and being added to an email list to get early and direct information on events.
