The Exploring Maine Industries Webinar Series is a new collaboration between Southern Maine Community College, University of Southern Maine, and Maine Career Catalyst to help students learn about different industries in Maine with the goal of supporting students’ career exploration and understanding of the world of work. Each webinar will focus on a different industry in Maine and will include perspectives from multiple employers and industry partners. Co-branded and hosted by SMCC, USM, and MCC, these 75-minute webinars will be open to all students interested in learning more about industry specific job opportunities, major and career pathways, what the job outlook and growth for this industry is in Maine, skills and experience needed for entry level roles, current trends and other considerations, and other advice.
The healthcare industry (also called the medical industry or health economy) is an aggregation and integration of sectors within the economic system that provides goods and services to treat patients with curative, preventive, rehabilitative, and palliative care. Maine's healthcare industry is a significant part of the state's economy. It encompasses a wide range of services, including hospitals, ambulatory care, and long-term care.
